More nudies

Figure drawing again :)

To help with my confidence I sketched with a brush pen tonight. This was scary at first because once that line went down there was no going back..but in the end I loved the gestures I was getting. So shout out to my friend Sarah who gave me the brush pen!

Face Shape Excercise

So part of my portfolio will be character design. Below is an exercises where I took a simple shape and created a character from it. I had fun with the theme :) Enjoy.

bots turn around

Here's the first turn around I've completed from a CAD file. This is one of the concepts from my senior project back in school. But I think that it can apply possible as some character work for my animation portfolio so I'm going to make a page for it :).

Jack's done!

Still on schedule! My jack turnaround is complete. To be fair it's only a partial but it's enough information :) Now I'll concept out a few facial expressions and scenes then he's ready for color/ the portfolio.

Jack sideview

Working on a turn around

Space Boy Jack (needs a real title)

This is a concept for a children's book I hope to write for my new nephew Jack Massey!
Jami, Jack, and my sis

So it's just a concept now but basically it'll be about a boy, Jack, who through his imagination goes into the depths of space and collects alien specimens. Think Calvin and Hobbes meets Star Trek...I dk it's a work in progress.

Animator Jeff?

To my 9 followers...I'm very excited to announce that I am going to be going back to school for animation! I've been working now for three years designing toys as most of you know but it's been...difficult for me to say the least. I should have known something was wrong when even back in school I didn't find industrial design sketching or fancy product renderings something to strive towards, I always found myself following amazing illustrators and animators instead.

That being said I have applied to SCAD Atlanta and got the opportunity to talk to the animation professor in charge of the graduate program. She was excited with the work I showed her and saw some potential and encouraged me to enter as a grad instead of for another BFA which made me real happy :) I'm going to be super busy for the next month because I have to enter my portfolio for scholarship review and I have a lot of catching up to do before I start school in six months.

Learn Maya, flash, improve my life drawing, actually complete some concepts I've had in my head, storyboarding, read a book on animation principals, and the list goes on and on...

Stay tuned, I need some help. I have joined a life drawing group here in ATL and I will be posting my drawings. Hahah I haven't done this since soph year at SCAD I am so rusty!!!
